Doors open at 9:00 AM

Sylvia Calderon will teach a workshop on making a reversible casserole carrier.  Sew this super cute casserole carrier just in time to use for those holiday potlucks!  This is a great idea for a housewarming, hostess gift, or Christmas gifts to share with your friends and family.  Join us on October 21st – doors open at 9:00 am; workshop begins at 9:30 am.  Kindly RSVP to jwagoner@zianet.com by October 18th so we can print enough instructions for everyone.

Reversible Casserole Carrier Supply List
Two Options:  Flip and Turn Carrier or Carrier with Binding*

  • 2 – 24” x 24” squares of fabric that coordinate
  • 2 – 24” x 24” squares cotton batting (you may opt to use a square of Insulbrite Thermal Batting for one of your squares)
  • 1 – 5” x 22” strip of coordinating fabric
  • 2 – 4.5” x 7” rectangles of coordinating fabric
  • *2.5” – 3” wide binding to go around carrier (approximately 105”). The thickness of the binding will depend on the thickness of your carrier.  Cut binding strips after you sew your carrier pieces together.  If you are opting to make the “flip and turn” carrier, you will NOT need binding.

Kevin Dasing, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) coordinator who distributes our community cupboard quilts to veterans, will discuss his work and the sites he serves. If you have contributed a red, white & blue quilt top recently, you may get a peek at your finished piece, as Kevin will be taking an armload for fall and holiday distribution.
