We invite you to explore the cultural legacy of the Mother Road through innovative fiber-based media. This project will serve as a vibrant narrative that reflects both the nostalgic past and modern-day spirit of Route 66.

Program: Richard Havey, Xen Shiatsu Practitioner
Qi Gong (pronounced chee gong) is an ancient Chinese healing art and self-cultivation system. This includes
simple, gentle movement, posture, breathing techniques, self-massage, and meditation.
“Shibashi” means eighteen. Shibashi Qigong is a wonderful set of 18 Qigong exercises practiced as a whole for maintaining good health and well-being. The movements are simple, gentle and flowing, and a joy to practice. Qi Gong has been shown to impact bone and cardiovascular health and improve balance-a great way to reset yourself after a long stretch of sewing! Or even a short one!

We are co-hosting national quilting instructor Ann Moore, who will be teaching a class on quilting with rulers. You can use your standard sewing machine, provided you have access to a ruler foot. She will bring rulers and may have feet for you to borrow. BUT we must have enough people to fill the class!! Program: Cruces Creatives Maker Space
Cruces Creatives is a non-profit makerspace that connects people with the tools, training, and community to make practically anything. They use the tools and skillsets gathered at the makerspace to launch interdisciplinary charitable projects. Tools and space include 3D printers, CAD manufacturing tools such as CNC and laser, wood shop, bicycle shop, textile lab, audio-visual lab, electronics lab, kids room, and more. Come learn more about them!
