Events List

September 19th – a special all day event is planned
Four Projects and a Potato

During the day, there will demonstrations of four projects by four guild members. So far, we have confirmation of the following demonstrations.
Benee Ketchum will demonstrate the ‘Three-D Pinwheel’ Quilt Block. Picture and Supply List will be in the August newsletter.
Linnea Egbert will demonstrate a foolproof method of making and attaching a sleeve for your work to display at quilt shows and for hanging display.
Cindy Peterson, a new member, will demonstrate how to make a ‘Prom Queen’ Pin. These are absolutely adorable. Cindy will supply all items needed to make these pins. Samples of the pins will be in the August newsletter.
Dianne Herrmann will help you make a small travel bag. All pre-class instructions will be emailed to participants.

At the beginning of the day, members will count off and separate into four groups. Each group will go to their first ‘assigned’ demo. After 45 minutes, members will be move to the next demo. There will be printed directions for each demo given out at the time of the demo.

After all demos are completed, there will be a Baked Potato ‘Bar’ with baked potatoes (Russet or Sweet Potato) and toppings, salads and other sides provided by the members. Sign ups have already begun for members to bring side dishes and/or toppings. There will be additional opportunity to add your name to these sign ups at the August meeting.

October 17th – Day Time Sew-In – since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, we will be making Breast Cancer Recovery Pillows for post-op surgery patients. Benee has a pattern accepted by the American Cancer Society. The guild has a ‘stash’ of pink fabrics that will be used for these pillows. Patterns will be available after the August meeting, for anyone wishing to start on the pillows ahead of time. There is a member who volunteered to donate A LOT of fiber fill to stuff the pillows.
